Is there a history that Polish and German citizens accept as their common one? Are there experiences of how the “past is seen in the present”?
When it comes to assessing what happened in the past century, there are still problems of understanding.
81 years ago, on 1 September 1939, the German Wehrmacht invaded Poland. Hitler’s “Blitzkrieg” turned into a barbaric world war. When the guns finally fell silent in May 1945, Europe lay in ruins.
The Polish and German borders shifted. Resettlement, flight and expulsion determined people’s everyday lives.
Our history, our Culture. In the school year 2021/2022, the International Delphic Council e.V. is planning an educational and cultural project together with Polish and German partners that will help to come to terms with recent history through artistic dialogue.
The basis is the textbook “Europe. Our History/Europa. Nasza Historia” – contributing towards the Future of Europe.
